Trips in June

14 June 2015 – Thames and St. Patrick’s stream
A gentle 5 mile circular paddle up the Thames from Wargrave, lock portage, riverside picnic and return down a beautiful side stream with Matt. 3-4 hours.

Currently it looks like there will be no coach on this trip, so for paddlers capable of looking after themselves on grade 1 moving water. Meet at 10.30am at the lay by by the green on the right after Val Wyatt marine just before entering Wargrave on the road from Henley and bring a picnic. See the trip map on Paddlepoints for St Patrick’s Stream and the Hennerton Backwater, except we won’t be paddling the Hennerton Backwater.

For more information please contact Matt.

20-21 June 2015 – Upper and Lower Tryweryn TripTryweryn
If you are happy on the legacy course at Lee Valley the Upper Tryeryn (grade 3) shouldn’t be a problem. The Lower Tryeryn (grade 1 and 2) is less difficult and perfect for practicing ferry glides and breaking in and out with a grade 4 drop at then end which can be portaged easily. Some may only want to paddle the Lower.

Nick and Arthur will be the coaches with Anthony and Beth helping out. Please contact Anthony for more details, or see the Facebook page.

27-28 June 2015 – Symonds Yat TripSymondsYat
Symonds Yat is a grade 1/2 set of rapids and an ideal introduction to moving water, this is the first place many learn to paddle on moving water and it is perfect for it – with added bonus of nice pub food and cream teas nearby!

Please contact Anthony for more details, or see the Facebook page.
